Amazing, but true fact: WATER makes up 25% of our hair shaft. Our roots draw water from inside our skin and transport it to the tips of every hair. Logic thus dictates that in order to keep that much water in our hair shaft, we must do it from the inside out.  Water is a necessity for healthy skin and hair nourishment of all healthy bodies. For well-hydrated cells, we must drink adequate amounts of water. This can mean the difference between having moisturized, healthy growing, and radiant natural hair or dry, brittle, and lifeless hair -caused by chronic dehydration of natural hair.

Arthur Guyton’s Textbook of Medical Physiology states that "the total amount of water in a man of average weight (70 kilograms) is approximately 40 litres, averaging 57 percent of his total body weight. In a newborn infant, this may be as high as 79 percent of the body weight, but it progressively decreases from birth to old age, most of the decrease occurring during the first 10 years of life.*
This all means that our entire body, including our hair, needs a constant supply of: WATER to be healthy. Avoid chronic dehydration!

So, exercise is another great aid to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. Finally, when we exercise, we avoid chronic dehydration because our bodies crave…guess what? That’s right: WATER.
