About Pure Indigo Powder for Darker Hair
Henna is the most widely used natural dye throughout the entire globe. However, Pure indigo is the second most powerful and widely used natural dye. When henna and indigo are properly combined together for hair coloring, the results are fantastic. This combination produces an array of shades from brown, dark brown, blue-black, purplish-black, natural black, to jet-black hair. The results may vary, depending upon the process, hair condition, percentage of gray and the ratio of pure henna and pure indigo in this process. The henna and indigo application can be done in either a two-step or one-step process. Use together or separately, either way the results are admirable: hair is soft and silky to the touch. The Indigo Plant
The word indigo has its origin from the Latin word 'Indicium' meaning blue dye from India. Indigofera Tinctoria is a sub-tropical plant that yields indigo. Since ancient times it’s been used by men and women to dye textiles and hair. As a hair dye, pure indigo is a green plant and the green leaves are dried, crushed and powdered. The dye is made from processing the plant’s leaves by soaking them in water and allowing them to ferment. This converts the natural glycoside indicant into the dye, indigotin. It can then be pressed into cakes, dried and powdered.Pure Indigo Powder Consumer Reviews
“I used this product with the Lustrous Henna® dark brown combined to give me a darker tone. I wanted it as close to black as possible. I have a head full of grey and for many years I've been dying it with over the counter permanent hair dyes. Eventually those started to make my skin break out in a rash so I decided to give this a try. It is an amazing product! I absolutely love it! My hair feels and looks healthier.
The color is rich and the mix of those two hennas gave me the black I was looking for. It is safe enough to use all the time and did not make me break out in a rash. It is all-natural, so it is safe. I had read somewhere while I was reading about henna in general, that instead of mixing it with water, you could mix it with coconut milk. I decided to that instead, but water works just as well. It's a wonderful product and I can't imagine using anything else. Like any henna, it's messy but once you get used to manipulating it all, it becomes easier. I can't say enough good things about it. –Ivonne A. –Online review.
“If you want black hair and absolutely brilliant coverage of gray, you need indigo. I dye my hair first with Lustrous Henna® Soft Black and then use Saba’s Pure Indigo. I have a lot of gray and the coverage is awesome. Really great results!!! – Z. W., Bayonne, NJ. USA
“Wonderful for preventing black hair from fading! I bought this and used it with the Lustrous Henna® in Soft Black. I love the shade of black this gave me! I have a bluish/purplish hue of black from using this! As a person who loved dying her hair a blue black I am extremely satisfied with the results! I will continue to buy this product. No more dangerous PPD products for me no more!” –Sarah, California USA
