Cassia Obovata Powder -Reviews for Saba Botanical of USA

Cassia Obovata Powder Reviews for Saba Botanical of USA –by L.J. O’Neal, writer.About Cassia Obovata Powder by Saba Botanical of USA
Senna Leaves Powder

Natural highlights of hair color like ash blonde hair, golden blonde hair or other lighter hair shades can be made radiant with Cassia Obovata. It is a green powder like henna, but unlike henna it does not deposit any color if left on for short time periods. Cassia Obovata is an excellent conditioning herb, also known to help with the hair loss. This powder can be mixed with other herbs as Amla, Shikakai for conditioning and other health benefits to hair & scalp.

Cassia Obovata (Senna) will naturally condition all textures of hair, adding luster and supple definition. It is also known to improve scalp condition and eliminates dandruff. If you have is ash blonde hair, golden blonde or gray hair, it will brighten and add golden hues and natural highlights (depending on length of time the paste left on your hair). If you have dark hair color, it will not lighten your hair, but you will still reap the deep conditioning benefits found). It's also safe to use on relaxed, bleached or dyed hair.

Very nice. Fantastic conditioner. Leaves hair healthy and fuller creating grays that are not so gray but a clean light non-obtrusive blond. Clean smell and very easy to use. –Cynthia P., Santa Rosa, CA USA
Blonde ‘henna’*. My hair has never been this healthy; plus, the color is great. -Kathy B., Moscow Mills, MO  USA

Love it!  Wonderful product - very fresh and well packaged. Great customer service. Affordable. I love the benefits of Cassia without the orangey color my medium brown hair gets with straight up Henna. My preference is to have blue/black hair and Henna is not worth it when I can just skip the color effects of Henna for NO color with Cassia but still get tons of strength and conditioning benefits. –Mony M., Albuquerque, NM USA

Cassia Obovata Powder Reviews for Saba Botanical of USA –by L.J. O’Neal, writer.About the Misnomer: “Neutral Henna”

Cassia Obovata or Senna is an herb that is frequently marketed by several companies as “Neutral Henna” powderOf course this questionable marketing practice causes much confusion to the consumer.

As noted above, Cassia Obovata has a number of beneficial properties that help condition and soften the hair. However pure Cassia Obovata is not henna powder or made from the henna plant -as is the case with a genuine henna powder "neutral" mixture.
The staining and conditioning properties of Cassia Obovata or Senna (similar to henna powder staining and conditioning) might be one of the reasons it is often marketed as neutral henna.

*Important: Please Don’t Get Confused!
At Saba Botanical of USA, "neutral henna" is henna powder made from the stems of the henna plant. Genuine “neutral henna” from Saba Botanical of USA is not Cassia Obovata (Senna).  Therefore, know the botany and ingredients of your ancient herbal products and purchase them from a reputable natural hair and skin care company.

Saba Botanical of USA Pure Indigo Reviews

About Pure Indigo Leaves Powder by Saba Botanical

Indigo has been used since ancient times as a natural dye. The botanical name is Indigofera Tinctoria. It was used by men and women to dye textiles and hair. The dye is made from processing the plant’s leaves by soaking them in water and allowing them to ferment. This converts the natural glycoside indicant into the dye, indigotin. It can then be pressed into cakes, dried and powdered.

As a hair dye, pure indigo is a green plant and the green leaves are dried, crushed and powdered. When used properly with pure henna, it will create shades ranging from brown to jet black color.  It also makes hair soft and silky to the touch.

I love my blue/black hair! Very high quality Indigo. It mixed well and rinsed out very easily and I have super curly (now thick from Henna) hair. I love how well my purchase was packaged - nice and air tight and everything was FRESH! …Great product, great customer care/follow up/affordable prices and I LOVE THE JET BLACK (bluish highlights in sun) that I achieved. Thanks Guys!!! –Mony M., Albuquerque, NM USA
Indigo. Very pleased with this. I was a bit unsure of this that it might have been too dark, but I mix equal parts henna and indigo and leave on for three hours. As noted under the henna review, my hair has stopped falling out and the colour is right. Thank you Saba Botanical. –Kerida H., Coolup, Western Australia

My husband’s 60% gray hair. For the 2nd application; I mixed 2 parts Soft Black Henna with 1 part Indigo. The choc brown coverage was very nice. Only a shimmer of gray/silver hair -that's not very noticeable. –Jacqueline A., South Amboy, NJ USA

Covers my gray hair! I get jet-black hair with indigo and Lustrous Henna. I often follow up an application of Lustrous Henna with half a pack of your pure indigo (on my medium-length hair). I mix it in a paste with hot tap water and sprinkle a little sea salt to speed up dye release. I add one or two drops of lavender, rosemary and ylang-ylang oils for natural fragrance. I wash the Lustrous Henna out of my hair, and then apply the indigo paste. I cover my hair with plastic and sit under the hair dryer for about an hour. I love the results and get lots of compliments! Thanks. Antoinette W., Boston, MA USA

Lustrous Henna® Real Customer Reviews

Lustrous Henna® Brown, Dark Brown and Auburn Dark Brown

Healthy, yummy brown. “Rich, beautiful long-lasting color; creating healthy hair and scalp with each application.” –Cynthia P., Santa Rosa, CA   USA

Very pleased with results. “I have a few grey hairs throughout, but it is mostly grey near my ears and along the front hairline. I use equal amounts of henna and indigo. I find that I have to leave it on for the 3 hours and that after a couple of weeks along the front starts looking a dark golden colour and then I can see a little green and purple, so I touch up those areas. Actually it looks a bit like I have put highlights in. But I am so, so pleased with it as my hair has stopped falling out. After years of using toxic hair colour, my hair is very thin and I didn't realize that it was that doing so much damage. I like the packaging, very well wrapped, but not heavy.” –Kerida H., Coolup, Western AUSTRALIA

Wonderful Henna! “I've changed from the darker color to the lighter brown and have gotten nothing but compliments! My only wish...that you offer coupons, frequent buyer discounts…” –Jill, Clifton Hill, NJ   USA

Great hair coloring product! “I love this product! It covers the gray very well, looks natural and lasts until it's time to have my hair cut and colored again. I get compliments on the color and how natural it looks. Most of all, I am happy that I found a product that is not chemical based. I would encourage anyone to give it a try.” –Pamela W., Staunton, IL   USA

Lustrous Henna Auburn Dark Brown. “Received my Lustrous Henna Auburn Dark Brown yesterday and applied it today. Easy to follow instructions. Very good coverage everywhere but a few stubborn grey in front of ears. (I'll touch up this week). Brilliant shine and silky feeling to hair and scalp. Looks and feels better than an expensive salon color. I will be re-ordering and continue to use this wonderful and natural product. Thank you very much!!”   -Faye B., Hamilton, Ontario CANADA

Love this product.“I am allergic to chem. colors. This find has been a game changer. My hair was better from day one. My scalp feels better too. I am back for more; and a few other products you offer as well. Thank you Saba Botanical of U.S.A. This customer is here to stay.” - Dana K., San Angelo, TX  USA

Awesome henna. “Gives a beautiful warm auburn color to dark hair. Great grey coverage; nice and not too warm... cool brown color.” –Roberta D., Kinnelon, NJ  USA

Dark brown henna. “I love it because I do not break out into allergies. This is the only product I can use to color my hair.” –Nisha K., Hanover Park, IL  USA

Hair Braiding at Night -Does it Encourage Natural Hair Growth?

Was My Own Hair Growth Due to Hair Braiding?

I must admit that I braid my hair every night. I haven’t always followed this routine, but have done so faithfully for the past several months. It didn’t occur to me that my hair growth had increased (when compared with last year at this time), until I was looking at photos of myself from the past summer. Now, at first, I thought that the difference was the hair braiding. However, upon closer review I found that braiding hair was an aid that boosted my already established hair routine and healthy eating habits. So…it wasn’t the hair braiding alone.

Hair Braiding at Night -Does it Encourage Natural Hair Growth-by L.J. O'Neal, writer
Hair braiding at its best!

Hair Braiding Steps that Encourage Hair Growth

Think about it. Hair grows on an average of about one-half inch a month, equaling six inches a year. You can keep your hair from shedding or falling if you have a regular hair maintenance routine and eat a healthy diet. So, braiding hair promotes what is already happening to your natural hair. Consider how the following hair braiding steps support this statement:

Gently brushing: Using a non-abrasive hairbrush (with nylon bristles or natural boar bristles or similar) to gently massage in hair oils encourages scalp stimulation to slightly increase hair growth; and blood to reach follicle at the root. Healthy circulation promotes better hair growth.

Loosely braiding hair aids in keeping natural hair ‘in place’ and helps avoids tangled hair that can break off and become damaged. (Never, ever braid too tight! It can damage hair and cause breakage.) In the morning, gently unbraiding makes styling a very simple process.

Less is more when it comes to braiding hair at night. If you plan on restyling your hair in the morning, then one, two, three or even four braids should be sufficient (depending on thickness and hair length).

Satin helps braiding by reducing friction from hair against fabric fibers, thus protecting against breakage. Simply covering hair or braid(s) with a satin sleep bonnet, satin bun cover or using a satin pillow protects your braids.

Hair Braiding at Night -Does it Encourage Natural Hair Growth-by L.J.O’Neal, writer.Hair Braiding Can be an Aid to Help Hair Growth

Even though braiding natural hair at night might help with hair growth, the most important thing you can do for your natural hair, is to eat a healthy diet full of foods that encourage hair growth at the cellular level. A regular exercise routine does the body, as well as the hair -good –from the inside out. Hair maintenance (that might include braiding) can then help aid the body to do its job: Grow supple, healthy and natural hair.

Hair Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair

Hair Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair –by L.J. O’Neal, writer.
Hair Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair -Jojoba Oil
The chemical structure of jojoba oil is quite similar to that of sebum, which is naturally produced by our body. Therefore, jojoba oil is very effective in maintaining the oil balance of the scalp, treating hair loss and strengthening the hair roots.

Jojoba oil is easily absorbed by the scalp and doesn’t need a carrier oil. It’s light and can be directly applied on your hair and scalp. The oil will penetrate deep into the hair shafts and moisturize hair follicle to make each stronger; thus repairing split ends when applied regularly.
Jojoba Oil Hair Treatment
Use alone or mix it with other oils and shown below (measurements are approximate).

Jojoba oil, 10 drops
Coconut oil, 3 drops
Rosemary oil, 4 drops
Castor oil, 5 drops

Follow the “Hair Oil Application” recommendation below.

Hair Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair -Lavender Oil

Lavender oil regulates the blood flow to the follicles that results in stronger hair roots, thus promoting improved hair growth.

Lavender oil has been very effective in treating dandruff since ancient times. Extreme stress and insufficient sleep can cause damage to hair. If your hair has been likewise been affected, try a lavender oil hair treatment or massage. It has been shown to induce sleep, thus an aid to relieving stress.

Lavender Oil Hair Treatment

The following is a great way to combine lavender with other oils for superior results. (Measurements are approximate).
Lavender oil, 10 drops
Almond oil, 5 drops
Chamomile oil, 4 drops
Grape seed oil, 4 drops

Follow the “Hair Oil Application” recommendation below.

Hair Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair -Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil contains elements (caffeic/ rosmarinic acid) that helps enhance the volume of your hair. It provides great relief to dry and itchy scalp, due to its soothing properties. Like the aforementioned oils, rosemary oil strengthens hair roots, prevents hair loss and breakage; thus promoting hair growth.

 Rosemary Oil Hair Treatment

Use rosemary oil, as the key oil, mixed into a hot oil treatment. Warm the mixture; apply to hair and gently massage into scalp. (Measurements are approximate).
Rosemary oil, 10 drops
Tea tree oil, 4 drops
Jojoba oil, 2 drops

Follow the “Hair Oil Application” recommendation below.

Hair Oil Application

1.     Oil your scalp and roots, then section your hair, lightly applying oil from ends to roots with fingertips.  Start off with a light oiling of ½ tsp. or less, until the proper amount is obtained.

2.     Wrap Hair in plastic wrap/plastic cap and leave oil on for about 30minutes. If you want a hot oil treatment, cover with heated cap or hot towel for at least 60 minutes (1 hour).

3.     Wet hair; then apply prepared Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste* to hair with fingertips (a small rubber spatula can aid in application, but not necessary). Making the shampoo paste takes about 30 seconds. Press and lightly massage throughout hair. (Follow-up gently; using a large-tooth comb for full coverage). Leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse out until hair is completely free of shampoo.

4.     This hair oil treatment can be used on all hair types. There is no need to follow up with a conditioner if you have fine to normal hair. However, if you have extremely dry, course or damaged hair and want to use a conditioner, Imbue Natural Conditioner* is strongly recommended.

*About Imbue™ Natural Conditioner

This natural herbal conditioner plant contains extracts as Bhringraj, Aloe Vera, Wheat germ oil, Almond oil, and more ancient botanicals. It helps revitalize and nourish your hair and scalp. It contains no harsh chemicals; no artificial colors.
