Possible Side Effects from Para-phenylenediamine (PPD)

Possible Side Effects from Dangerous Substances

Heed Warnings that Can Save Our Life
What if we had a safety inspection of our home and it was found out that it was no longer healthy for us to live in? We were told that due to a problem with a dangerous substance. If we remained in our beloved home, our very lives and that of our children would be at risk of severe health problems that would plague us for the rest of our lives. What would we do?
It’s not an easy thing to leave beloved possessions behind in order to live in a healthy environment. However, most likely all of us would do it after receiving the facts and learning about all the risks.

Possible Side Effects from Para-phenylenediamine (PPD)

Warnings that Can Save Our Hair and Skin
On a much smaller scale, but just as serious level, many of us (including a number of hair stylists) have made the change and no longer use permanent hair dye. We now use all natural herbal hair dye that is free from PPD, ammonia, peroxide and many other harmful chemicals.
This decision was not an easy one, especially with the emphasis placed on speedy beauty in many hair salons and in advertisement. We came to love our addiction to our favorite hair colors, even if they were not a perfect natural match. But we did it!
Now we love our natural beauty and can still enjoy looking younger using natural herbal products that won’t affect our health. There are others out there, though, still not totally convinced. You are still straddling the fence because it’s not easy. Out of concern for those of you who find yourself in this predicament, I’m repeating a few facts about the risks you’re still taking by using permanent chemical hair dye.

Possible Side Effects According to the FDA, American Cancer Society, CDC, NIH, National Cancer Institute -and a plethora of other consumer organizations

  • Cause allergic reactions including redness, rashes, sores, burning sensations, itching and headaches.
  • Be a possible carcinogen after oxidation, linked to increasing the occurrence of various forms of cancer such as: non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Multiple myeloma, Breast Cancer, Leukemia, Bladder Cancer.
Additionally, a report (08/2007) from leading chemical company DuPont, regarding the dangers of para-phenylenediamine (PPD) in hair dye is well-documented in the Material Safety Data Sheet. (MSDS number: 1155CR) Unfortunately, this document is no longer available online. You must contact DuPont and request it.

Please give serious thought to this information about possible side effects of chemical hair dye.
Take the next step and make the wise choice: use all-natural plant-based hair dye and be healthy and strong for yourself and especially for those you love.
