You may have read that,  "permanent chemical dyes are ‘probably’ safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding."
If the above statement were definitely true, then why not state, “permanent chemical dyes ‘are’ safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding? The answer is obvious. If they ‘probably are’ safe, then they’re ‘probably not’ safe.

“Probably” is an interesting word. Used one way, it gives you hope. Used another way and you feel despair. Let’s check out what Random House Dictionary states about the definition fitting the above:
Probably: (adverb)
  1. in all likelihood; very likely: “He will probably attend.” (Random House Dictionary)
Probable:
  1. having more evidence for than against, or evidence that inclines the mind to belief but leaves some room for doubt.

Used in the first example above, the impression the word gives us is that of hope and we ‘probably’ don’t even focus our minds on the word when used in the sentence. However, when used in connection with whether or not a pregnant or lactating (breastfeeding) woman should color her hair with chemical dyes, this is a word that you most definitely should pay attention to.

It is strongly recommended by most obstetricians, gynecologists and other health care professionals, that pregnant women NOT use permanent chemical dyes during the first trimester of pregnancy. Why?

  1. Your baby is undergoing very important neurological developments during your first three months of pregnancy. Low levels of permanent chemical dye are absorbed into the scalp and passed through the body and have been identified in urine samples.
  1. Additionally, breathing toxic fumes from permanent chemical dyes can be harmful to the developing fetus.

When it comes to your health and your baby, the word “PROBABLY”, just isn’t good enough.
Be safe. Be natural. Use pure Lustrous Henna® for hair coloring –before, during and after pregnancy. It’s lab-certified to be completely natural. Clearly, the best choice for moms everywhere.

“I was so excited to try out this henna dye! But so nervous at the same time! I have never dyed my hair before and I decided to go with the
Lustrous Henna® Mahogany to give my hair a little red touch!
Thanks to my husband's help, it was really easy to do and took about a couple hours to complete the whole process. I loved that I could do it in the comfort and privacy of my own home and watch TV at the same time! It made the time go by really fast!

It was also great to know I got a beautiful color but without all the harmful ingredients! The color came out pretty red at first but it eventually blended in and looked gorgeous! I love my new hair color and I can't wait to buy a different color next time!

I recommend Saba Botanical Lustrous Henna Hair Color for all men and women who either want to cover grays or just want a new hair color/change like me! The colors are gorgeous, don't dry your hair out, and are safe for everyone to use!”  Read more.
