It's like putting mud on your hair and smells like old grass clippings (not too strong though). I add a few drops of essential oils and it's much better. It covered my gray quite well with the first application. I have thick, dark hair with a lot of gray at the crown. It's been a few weeks and I need to touch up the roots. I'll continue to use it because it conditions my hair, covers gray, and no dangerous chemicals." -TanyaAnya
Impressed. "Amazing color results. I used the dark brown. Was worried when I saw the green powder, but there was no trace of it after, just a gorgeous brown. If you haven't used henna before, it's a bit like putting a dirt/grass mixture on you head. So worth it though when something is chemical-free and WORKS. There is a grassy residual smell in hair for a few days after. Hair was soft, shiny, and had extra volume. It's been four weeks I see more highlights as time goes on, but color is still going strong. As an added bonus, it only took half the powder to do the job, so it's like doubling my purchase!" -wyomom
Messy but works well... "I tried this product after S---a B----l henna wouldn't adhere to my hair which was damaged from from permanent chemical color which stripped it. (Don't EVER let a stylist put permanent color in your hair!!) I believe the S---a B----l henna wouldn't adhere because of my hair issues, not because of the product.
Lustrous Henna is the regular powdered henna and it can be messy to apply but, the mess is worth it. I am naturally dark brunette and was only trying to make the damaged parts of my hair match my roots - which it did very well. After trying to get color (chemical or natural) to stay in my hair for the past 2 years only to have it wash out immediately I was VERY happy to find a product that won't wash out and is good for my hair.
It's been almost a month since I used this product and the color is still good. It did not cover the few grey hairs very well but, I did not reapply as it directs on the instructions so I consider that operator error, not the fault of the product. I hope it works as well for you as it did me! :-)" -So Da
Works great! "I've used it three times now and have gotten beautiful color from it. Lots of complements. I only wish it lasted longer." --Terrylynn54
Not Bad For Henna. "This is not bad for henna. All henna is a mess to use but with this you don't have to add coffee or tea. You just mix it with hot water and leave it on for two hours. It does a good job of coloring the gray with no chemicals and that's my main concern when using hair dyes." -anonymous
