Natural Beauty Highlighted by Correct Hair Color Choice

Natural Beauty: Eye Color, Hair Color, Skin Tone

According to color experts, our overall facial features are usually divided up into two categories: Cool and Warm.  Our eye color, skin and natural hair coloring determine whether we are in the warm category or cool category.

Gray_eyes Cool Natural Beauty

Cool eye color:  dark brown, black-brown, gray-blue, dark blue, hazel with white gray or blue flecks.

Cool hair (natural) color:
Blue-Black (or jet black), deep brown, ash brown, ash blond, platinum blond.

Cool skin tone:
very dark brown, true olive, medium pale, medium with golden undertones, pale, bronze.

Greeneyes Warm Natural Beauty

Warm eye color: golden brown, green, green-blue, turquoise, hazel with golod or brown flecks.

Warm hair (natural) color:
deep brown with gold or red highlights, red, strawberry blond, gray-yellow, natural or golden blond.

Warm skin tone:
brown with pink or golden undertones, peachy or with peachy undertones, pale with gold undertones, freckled, ruddy.
Of course if you don’t remember what color your natural hair is or if you regularly use tanning beds, it might not be as simple. What colors currently compliments your facial features -in your wardrobe-should be able to determine if you are warm or cool. Blue, green and violet are cool hues. Red, orange and yellows are warm hues.

Most complimentary hair color for cool skin:
golden, rich brown and redder coloring.

Most complimentary hair color for warm skin:
ashy shades of brown  (instead of red-browns), black, light colors.

Natural Beauty Caveat:
The above is very basic. Remember, you are: uniquely you. Your complexion and skin tone might be more of a combination that doesn't ‘fit’ into a basic category. There is not true “cookie-cutter” template on cool or warm individuals. As suggested in part one of this post, if you’re unsure, do the following: It might be helpful to save some hair from your comb or hairbrush until you have enough test for color. Do a color test on your saved hair to ensure that you will like the results.

Ignore the myths
, think more about skin tone, eye color and your natural haircolor and highlights, then choose the LustrousHenna® shade that naturally suits you and your natural beauty.

Teens- dyed hair. www.SabaBotanical.comChildren's Health Concern: Hair Dye for Teens and Pre-Teens Nowadays, there is a growing trend of dying children’s hair and using harsh chemical dyes to do so.  Parents, please take heed to the following warning.

Children's Health Concern: Hair Dye Use Can Cause Severe Allergy
According to numerous dermatological and other medical reports hair dye allergy is on the rise. An article in the British Medical Journal* reported that in Japan, Denmark and USA, hair color use has increased among male and female youth. “Severe hair dye reactions among children have recently been reported.”

Children's Health Concern: FDA
According to the FDA, adults using chemical hair dyes have suffered serious problems such as: hair loss, burning, redness, itchy or raw skin, swelling in the face, trouble breathing, permanent scarring and more. There also have been several young dematological patients that have suffered terrible skin reactions from chemical hair color dyes containing harsh ingredients such as Para-Phenylenediamine (PPD), coal tar, peroxide, ammonia and much more.  There are also studies that link prolonged use of such dyes to cancer. Boy-dyed hair.

Children's Health Concern: “Wake-Up” Call for Parents
Following harmless fashion and style trends can bring joy and lots of fun. However, using harmful and dangerous substances to follow a trend isn't wise and the consequences won’t be joyful at all. Please listen to this “Wake-Up” call and keep protecting your children’s health.

"Love your product! I am 85% grey and ordered the Henna Soft Black along with the Indigo. I used three parts of Henna Soft Black and one part of Indigo. I love the results. I got a very dark brown to black color hair which was exactly what I was looking for.

I used chemical dyes two or three times and developed severe reactions to the chemicals used in those products. With the Henna Soft Black and Indigo I just get great looking hair with no reactions. Would recommend to anyone looking for natural products".

Shikakai and Amla: Hair Loss Remedy

Shikakai. www.SabaBotanical.comHair Loss Remedy: Shikakai

Shikakai is known as, “fruit for hair”. Shikakai conditions from the hair root and is used as a mild cleansing shampoo in India. Shikakai powder is similar to soap nuts in that it doesn’t produce the amount of lather a sulfate-containing shampoo would. However, it is an excellent cleanser for natural hair. It’s very mild with a naturally low pH. It doesn’t strip hair root of natural oils and since it also acts as a detangler, it usually doesn’t need to be followed up with a conditioner.

Shikakai is also known to promote hair growth by nourishing the scalp at the glandular level. It also can strengthen hair roots. (This is good news for anybody transitioning from a chemical perm or relaxer to natural hair). It is rich in vitamin C and vitamin D, along with other nutrients that nourish the hair follicles and promote hair growth. It can be used by itself or mixed with other natural ingredients in powder form, along with water to form a paste that is then applied to the hair.

However, it’s important to remember that, traditionally, prior to washing the hair with plants containing Saponin (like soap nuts or the healthy hair growth plant, Shikakai), the user massages the scalp at the hair root with coconut oil or castor oil.

Indian_gooseberry_Amla. www.SabaBotanical.comHair Loss Remedy: Amla

Amla is wonderful cleansing agent for both the skin and hair. It imparts luster to hair and protects from dandruff, also helps prevent premature gray hair. It stimulates growth of hair on the scalp, and strengthens the hair roots. Amla extract in all natural shampoo does not deposit any color on the hair and can be used by everyone. Amla extract helps replace the nourishment lost by hair gels, chemical hair color and hair spray.

Hair Loss Remedy: Amla and Shikakai Combination

Amla (Indian Gooseberry) is used as an ancient treatment to maintain healthy hair. Amla especially is renowned for its healing effect on the hair (it nourishes dry scalp and hair and makes it manageable) and nowadays used in spas.

Massage the scalp with coconut oil or castor oil.
Then:

Combine 2 tablespoons each of Amla Powder and Shikakai Powder; add enough (room temperature) water to make into a paste. Apply to hair. Cover with plastic cap for approximately 10-15 minutes. Rinse out thoroughly.

This is an excellent remedy for split ends.

healthy diet for healthy hair. www.SabaBotanical.comHealthy Diet for Healthy Hair

A healthy diet is essential to promoting hair growth. You might be surprised to learn that improper nutrition is a cause of numerous hair loss problems. Therefore, if you don’t follow a nutrient-rich diet and are currently experiencing hair loss issues: change your diet.

Eat your veggies, fruit, and milk to gain much needed nutrients for healthy hair. You also need protein sources to help nourish hair growth and eliminate hair loss.

Revitalize Your Hair

By applying the previous recommendation to your healthy hair regime, you can prevent hair loss and revitalize your hair.

What Aloe Vera ISN’T…

Aloe-plant-www.sababotanical.comAloe Vera ISN’T… always what we read on the label!

Nowadays, it seems that every product that wants to appear healthy and beneficial, include the words “Aloe Vera” on its packaging. Even the tissue companies found a way to add it to their labels! Therefore, we need to pause for thought and THINK for a second…do we really need a miniscule drop of Aloe Vera in our tissue?

On a more serious note, when we are searching for pure Aloe Vera or products containing pure Aloe Vera, we really need to be careful
and read the ingredient labels. We might end up with something that may even cause us harm. One well-known company claims to sell 100% Aloe Vera Gel.  After reading the ingredient label, you might be shocked to see that it is not 100% Aloe Vera Gel at all, but : (company) Aloe Vera, 100% Gel. Does this make a difference? You bet it does! This product is a gel that contains Aloe Vera and many harmful chemical additives. One ingredient was even banned in Europe for being a known carcinogen!

take care of your hair. www.sababotanical.comA “Recipe” that Promotes Healthy Hair Growth

Aloe Vera gel contains many healthy hair benefits especially when combined with wheat germ oil and almond oil, added to Bhringraj. As we shared in the previous post, this “recipe” is found in every bottle of Imbue® Natural Conditioner by Saba Botanicals of USA. It is an herbal formula containing plant extracts from Bhringraj combined with, Aloe Vera gel, Wheat germ oil and Almond oil. This mixture will only help to revitalize and nourish your hair and scalp.

A Writer’s Personal Experience

Personally, I have thyroid disease, along with PCOS -two conditions known to cause a thinning crown and hair, and my hair loves natural Aloe Vera gel and Imbue® Natural Conditioner. I use it many times just by itself as a co-wash or I follow up my Imbue® Natural Shampoo with it. I use Lustrous Henna to cover my grays and condition my hair too.  My hair always feels softer when using Lustrous Henna and I’ve found that my hair is actually thicker. My husband even commented the same.

If you suffer hair fall or hair thinning, then perhaps you’ll achieve similar results in your own experience using this healthy hair "recipe".

A Testimonial by a Happy Woman
I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE the Lustrous henna.  I've been using it for about 2 years now, and I will never go back to the chemical dyes, for many reasons. Getting my long hair dyed in a salon cost me well over $100.

When I tried to be more economical and do it myself, I would still have to buy two bottles of dye, not to mention processing agents, and special conditioners, and then color safe shampoos and conditioners for after.  I have used color safe products and non-color safe products with the Lustrous Henna, and there is no difference, it doesn't really fade.
And at (currently) $7.49 per pack (I only need 1 pack for my hair), the price can't be beat.

Also, even when I went to a salon, my hair would fade to an ugly, mustardy brown after only 2 weeks to a month.  With Lustrous Henna, I dye my hair about once every 3 months, and even when it fades, it fades to a very nice, dark shade (I use the black and the mahogany).  In fact, the only reason I know it's faded at all is because my grays start showing.  Which brings me to another point.  My grays are interspersed throughout my hair, and the henna dyes them a lighter shade than the rest of my hair, which just ends up looking like really pretty highlights. And the fact that it does absolutely NO damage to my hair is the icing on the cake.

I love this stuff, please never stop selling it!  I will never go back to chemical dyes ever again.

Aloe Vera IS...

Aloe Vera IS :

Aloe_vera_flowera flowering plant. It has been called “the lily of the desert” and “the plant of immortality”. The aloe plant medicinal and healing properties have been known for over 4000 years. Whether aloe vera gel, juice or extract, it has a very long history. It was used by ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Chinese civilizations. Cleopatra usedthe aloe plant to purify her skin. Alexander the Great used the aloe plant for his soldiers’ wounds.

Aloe Vera
is a stemless or very short-stemmed succulent plant with yellow flowers, growing to 24–39 in tall. The small serrated leaves of the aloe plant are thick and fleshy, green to grey-green, with some varieties showing white flecks on the upper and lower stem surfaces. The beautiful yellow flowers of the aloe plant are produced in summer on a spike up to 35 in tall. Aloe Vera grows in arid climates and is widely distributed in Africa, India and other arid areas.

As a topical medicinal treatment, Aloe Vera gel and extracts have antibacterial and antifungal properties
that may help in the treatment of skin infections and inhibit the growth of fungi. Additionally, Aloe Vera is a natural moisturizer that soothes the skin, eliminating the risk of flaky scalp (dandruff) and flaky skin in harsh and dry weather.
protect hair with aloe vera.

Aloe Vera gel is an excellent treatment for hair loss because the plant itself closely matches our own body’s biochemistry,
containing many of the same vitamins and minerals that make up our own bodies. Without question, Aloe Vera gel provides benefits for hair fall or hair loss. It strengthens, adds a healthy radiance and shine to hair.

A “Recipe” that Promotes Healthy Hair Growth

Aloe Vera gel contains many healthy hair benefits especially when combined with wheat germ oil and almond oil, added to Bhringraj. Tthis “recipe” is found in the bottles of Imbue Natural Conditioner by Saba Botanicals of USA. It is an herbal formula containing plant extracts from Bhringraj combined with, Aloe Vera, Wheat germ oil and Almond oil. This mixture will only help to revitalize and nourish your hair and scalp.

Hair Care Transitioning from Chemicals to Natural? Get Rescued!

Hair care drawing.Hair Care Transitioning.

Planning to do the “big chop”? Cutting away all of the chemical perms and relaxers from your hair, to start fresh with new growth, may seem palatable to many women. They can totally focus on natural hair only, even if it means wearing a much shorter hairstyle.
However, many women can’t stand the thought of having super short natural hair after years of a much longer mane. They prefer to maintain and care for two types of hair until their natural hair length meets their satisfaction. When happy with the length of their natural hair, only then will they do the “big chop” and cut away all the chemically-altered hair.

Others feel that it's better to don a wig, braid or weave attachments to their natural hair to improve their hair care self-perception or self-esteem.

A Hair Care Regime Using Products With Proven Results for Natural Hair Growth
