Cold Pressed/Cold Processed Castor Oil Benefits and Hair Care Application
Cold Pressed and Cold Processed Castor oil is very thick and its scent might not be as pleasing to the senses as other oils, but its benefits to your scalp and skin will definitely please you. Some prefer to mix it with other oils, to thin out the consistency. That’s an individual choice.Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil is a natural emollient that penetrates the surface layers of the skin, making it softer and supple. Perfect for dry feet and heels or other excessively dry skin areas. A few of the benefits to the hair and scalp: Prevents dry scalp; Moisturizes hair and eliminates dry hair; deep conditions hair and scalp; thickens thin hair; prevents and reduces hair breakage and damage; increases hair growth; adds fullness and shine to hair; prevents and stops split ends (when applied on hair ends); stops frizziness; improves hair health.
Other Hair Healthy Oils include: Virgin Coconut Oil, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil & Flaxseed Oil.
Did you know that natural herbal oils you’ve probably already use for skin care are known to help strengthen, regrow hair and to eliminate dandruff. They’re easy to apply, and when used along with the natural botanical powders at Saba Botanical of USA, might make a difference in your rate of hair growth in just a few short months.
Use with Natural Botanical Products from Saba Botanical
1. Oil your scalp and roots (with virgin coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil or cold-pressed castor oil). (or use a combination of oils to total 2 tbsp. to ¼ cup, depending on scalp area. Try to avoid getting castor oil into to the rest of hair (since it can be hard to wash out if entire head is saturated). Gently massage oil into scalp. Do this prior to using Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder.2. Wrap Hair in plastic wrap/plastic cap and leave oil on for about 30 minutes. If you want a hot oil treatment, add heat for 15-20 minutes. (Some users like to leave the oil on their scalp overnight which is okay, if you desire) Remove with warm water. If oil remains in your hair, no worries: Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo will help remove the rest of the oil.
3. Wet hair again and apply prepared Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste* to hair with fingertips (a small rubber spatula can aid in application, but not necessary). Making the shampoo paste takes about 30 seconds. Press and lightly massage throughout hair. (follow-up gently-using a large-tooth comb for full coverage). Leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse out until hair is completely free of shampoo.
4. There is no need to follow up with a conditioner if you have fine to normal hair. However, if you insist on using a conditioner use Imbue™ Nuturing Conditioner. If you have extremely dry, course or damaged hair, use So Natural™ Moisture Gloss Conditioner from Saba Botanical of USA.
There you have it, oils that you use for other purposes in your kitchen and bath -that can benefit your hair. In addition to applying what you have learned from this series of 4 articles, always remember that another thing in your kitchen that will help keep your hair in top condition is: healthy food. Indeed, for totally healthy hair care, a healthy diet, plenty of exercise and proper rest are absolutely essential.
Of course, there are other oils not normally found in most Western Hemisphere kitchens and baths that also benefit hair: Ayurvedic oils. That just might be the topic of a future post.
