About Pure Indigo for Hair Reminder

Pure Indigo Leaves Powder. The botanical name is Indigofera Tinctoria. Other synonyms are true indigo, pigmentum indicum, neel and neelii. The plant is actually a leafy shrub that grows 3-6 feet tall with magenta-colored flowers.

Indigo has been used since ancient times as a natural dye. It was used by men and women to dye textiles and hair. The dye is made from processing the plant’s leaves by soaking them in water and allowing them to ferment. This converts the natural glycoside indicant into the dye, indigotin. It can then be pressed into cakes, dried and powdered.

As a hair dye, pure indigo is a green plant and the green leaves are dried, crushed and powdered. When used properly with pure henna, it will create shades ranging from brown to jet black color. It also makes hair soft and silky to the touch.

What Pure Indigo is NOT: It is not the so-call misnomer, “Black Henna”. "Black Henna" is not pure indigo or "black" indigo. If indigo is mixed with chemicals dyes, or even henna that has been compromised by chemicals, including PPD, then it is not pure indigo or the so-called, "black henna". Stay far away from “Black Henna”.

Extra-Virgin Virgin Olive Oil Improves Hair Health

Being rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, olive oil nourishes the hair. It is a natural conditioner and great for healthy hair shine. The emollient contained within olive oil improves hair strength, thus enabling it to grow by, stopping hair fall and breakage. Hair elasticity also increases. An olive oil scalp massage is a wonderful stress reducer.

Why Extra-Virgin or Virgin Olive Oil for Hair?

Extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) comes from virgin oil production only, contains no more than 0.8% acidity (smell is not as pungent). Virgin olive oil comes from virgin oil production only, has an acidity less than 2. This differs from Pure olive oil.
Oils labeled as Pure olive oil or Olive oil are usually a blend of refined and virgin production oil. Are You Nervous When Thinking of Changing Your Hair Color “Service”?

It’s natural to be nervous and apprehensive when it comes to changing a personal service that we’ve probably been doing for years. It feels great leaving our favorite hair salon with the perfect cut, perfect style and perfect color. It’s possible that we couldn’t image being happier than how we feel at the moment. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, might be a better way of expressing how we feel when it comes to changing our hair color service.

The Power of the Flower: Andropogon Muricatus (Vetiver), Essential “Oil of Tranquility”

India’s “Oil of Tranquility”

The Latin names are Andropogon muricatus, Anatherum zizaniodes, Chrysopogon zizanioides (Ushira) and Vetiveria zizanioides. More commonly called in English, Vetiver, Khas-Khas, and Khus-Khus. Andropogon muricatus or Vetiver is commonly called the “oil of tranquility”.
