A Pure Indigo for Hair Reminder by Saba Botanical of USA

About indigo by Saba Botanical of USA
About Pure Indigo for Hair Reminder

Indigo-plant-flowering-saba-botanical Pure Indigo Leaves Powder. The botanical name is Indigofera Tinctoria. Other synonyms are true indigo, pigmentum indicum, neel and neelii. The plant is actually a leafy shrub that grows 3-6 feet tall with magenta-colored flowers.

Indigo has been used since ancient times as a natural dye. It was used by men and women to dye textiles and hair. The dye is made from processing the plant’s leaves by soaking them in water and allowing them to ferment. This converts the natural glycoside indicant into the dye, indigotin. It can then be pressed into cakes, dried and powdered.

As a hair dye, pure indigo is a green plant and the green leaves are dried, crushed and powdered. When used properly with pure henna, it will create shades ranging from brown to jet black color. It also makes hair soft and silky to the touch.

What Pure Indigo is NOT: It is not the so-call misnomer, “Black Henna”. "Black Henna" is not pure indigo or "black" indigo. If indigo is mixed with chemicals dyes, or even henna that has been compromised by chemicals, including PPD, then it is not pure indigo or the so-called, "black henna". Stay far away from “Black Henna”.
Indigo-saba-botanical Lustrous Henna® in Soft Black Shade is NOT “Black Henna”.
The soft black shade is derived from mixing pure henna (from the henna plant) with the extracts of pure indigo and other natural botanicals found in nature.

Lustrous Henna® is completely para-phenylenediamine-free (PPD-free hair dye); also, ammonia-free, peroxide-free.

Lustrous Henna® remains in its natural herbal form (a powder).
Indigo-leaf-powder-saba-botanical To avoid confusion, always make sure of the company’s reputation that you are dealing with, since there are no regulations in many countries, including India, for ingredient labels. For this reason, “Black Henna” dyes usually contain even higher concentrations of PPD than many commercial hair dyes sold in the USA. Sadly many individuals think that when they purchase this product, it is pure indigo (or pure indigo only mixed with pure henna) and the results have led to sad consequences and also some dermatologic horror stories.

When you want pure indigo, make sure what you buy is: pure indigo.

  • Does not penetrate in the hair shaft to cause them to dry, and become lifeless and brittle.
  • Covers any other color as it coats the hair.
  • Lustrous Henna colors contain herbs that have therapeutic values, will heal not hurt, as opposed to chemical-based dyes that have known to cause cancer and severe damage to vital organs as they penetrate into the skin.
  • Lustrous Henna contains herbs that are known to prevent hair loss, herbs that are known for anti-dandruff properties and to improve overall health of your hair

www.SabaBotanical.com Lustrous Henna® should not be compared with Chemical Dyes in effects as they totally differ in the mechanism of dying. Chemical Dyes first damage the outer layer then fills the cavity and stays in the hair shaft, is also a permanent dye.

Lustrous Henna® gives coating on your hair shaft and stays on the hair shaft, as a Semi-Permanent Natural Dye. Chemical Dyes thin the hair which reduces the strength of hair shaft whereas, Lustrous Henna®, thickens and nourishes your hair shaft while increasing its strength.

Try Lustrous Henna® today and its ingredients may just become your most admired herbs for beautifying your own hair.

Saba Botanical of USA isTop Listed Hair Site Hi my name is Debbe and I came across Saba Botanical about a year ago and will never turn back. I originally started out just using the (Lustrous) Henna which colors my gray hair beautifully. From there I went on to use the Lustrous Henna Powder Shampoo and I have found it to be an amazing product and never again do I need to use regular shampoo, conditioner, hairsprays, or gels. It leaves the hair silky smooth, soft, extremely shiny, manageable, bouncy, and clean. In addition to all of that, it also helps the (Lustrous) Henna color to last longer before fading. I also have to add that Syed is always a pleasure to talk to, and is full of knowledge and tips. I am so thankful to Syed, because of his products I have gorgeous hair that gets complimented no matter where I go!

Have Healthy Oils in Your Kitchen & Bath? Prevent Hair Loss & Grow Your Hair. Pt. 4

Castor Seed Plant Cold Pressed/Cold Processed Castor Oil Benefits and Hair Care Application

Cold Pressed and Cold Processed Castor oil is very thick and its scent might not be as pleasing to the senses as other oils, but its benefits to your scalp and skin will definitely please you. Some prefer to mix it with other oils, to thin out the consistency. That’s an individual choice.

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil is a natural emollient that penetrates the surface layers of the skin, making it softer and supple. Perfect for dry feet and heels or other excessively dry skin areas. A few of the benefits to the hair and scalp: Prevents dry scalp; Moisturizes hair and eliminates dry hair; deep conditions hair and scalp; thickens thin hair; prevents and reduces hair breakage and damage; increases hair growth; adds fullness and shine to hair; prevents and stops split ends (when applied on hair ends); stops frizziness; improves hair health.

Other Hair Healthy Oils include: Virgin Coconut Oil, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil & Flaxseed Oil.
Did you know that natural herbal oils you’ve probably already use for skin care are known to help strengthen, regrow hair and to eliminate dandruff. They’re easy to apply, and when used along with the natural botanical powders at Saba Botanical of USA, might make a difference in your rate of hair growth in just a few short months.

Saba Botanical of USA isTop Listed Hair Site
Use with Natural Botanical Products from Saba Botanical

1.     Oil your scalp and roots (with virgin coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil or cold-pressed castor oil). (or use a combination of oils to total 2 tbsp. to ¼  cup, depending on scalp area. Try to avoid getting castor oil into to the rest of hair (since it can be hard to wash out if entire head is saturated). Gently massage oil into scalp. Do this prior to using Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder.

2.     Wrap Hair in plastic wrap/plastic cap and leave oil on for about 30 minutes. If you want a hot oil treatment, add heat for 15-20 minutes. (Some users like to leave the oil on their scalp overnight which is okay, if you desire) Remove with warm water. If oil remains in your hair, no worries: Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo will help remove the rest of the oil.

3.     Wet hair again and apply prepared Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste* to hair with fingertips (a small rubber spatula can aid in application, but not necessary). Making the shampoo paste takes about 30 seconds. Press and lightly massage throughout hair. (follow-up gently-using a large-tooth comb for full coverage). Leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse out until hair is completely free of shampoo.
Saba Botanical of USA isTop Listed Hair Site
Saba Botanical of USA isTop Listed Hair Site 4.     There is no need to follow up with a conditioner if you have fine to normal hair. However, if you insist on using a conditioner use Imbue Nuturing Conditioner. If you have extremely dry, course or damaged hair, use So Natural™ Moisture Gloss Conditioner from Saba Botanical of USA.

There you have it, oils that you use for other purposes in your kitchen and bath -that can benefit your hair. In addition to applying what you have learned from this series of 4 articles, always remember that another thing in your kitchen that will help keep your hair in top condition is: healthy food. Indeed, for totally healthy hair care, a healthy diet, plenty of exercise and proper rest are absolutely essential.

Of course, there are other oils not normally found in most Western Hemisphere kitchens and baths that also benefit hair: Ayurvedic oils. That just might be the topic of a future post.

Have Healthy Oils in Your Kitchen & Bath? Prevent Hair Loss & Grow Your Hair. Pt. 3

www.SabaBotanical.com Extra-Virgin Virgin Olive Oil Improves Hair Health

Being rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, olive oil nourishes the hair. It is a natural conditioner and great for healthy hair shine. The emollient contained within olive oil improves hair strength, thus enabling it to grow by, stopping hair fall and breakage.  Hair elasticity also increases. An olive oil scalp massage is a wonderful stress reducer.

Why Extra-Virgin or Virgin Olive Oil for Hair?

Extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) comes from virgin oil production only, contains no more than 0.8% acidity (smell is not as pungent).  Virgin olive oil comes from virgin oil production only, has an acidity less than 2. This differs from Pure olive oil.
Oils labeled as Pure olive oil or Olive oil are usually a blend of refined and virgin production oil. Per Wikipedia: “Over 50% of the oil produced in the Mediterranean area is of such poor quality that it must be refined … Note that no solvents have been used to extract the oil, but it has been refined with the use of charcoal and other chemical and physical filters.”
…and now you know why it’s best to use Extra-Virgin or Virgin Olive Oil for hair care.
Other Hair Healthy Oils include: Virgin Coconut Oil, Cold-Pressed Castor Oil & Flaxseed Oil.
Did you know that natural herbal oils you’ve probably already use for skin care are known to help strengthen, regrow hair and to eliminate dandruff. Are You Nervous When Thinking of Changing Your Hair Color “Service”?

Request Lustrous Henna at Hair Salon. www.SabaBotanical.com

www.SabaBotanical.com www.SabaBotanical.com It’s natural to be nervous and apprehensive when it comes to changing a personal service that we’ve probably been doing for years. It feels great leaving our favorite hair salon with the perfect cut, perfect style and perfect color. It’s possible that we couldn’t image being happier than how we feel at the moment. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, might be a better way of expressing how we feel when it comes to changing our hair color service.

However, think about other “habits” that were once thought to be a great way to enhance our image and self-esteem: perhaps cigarette smoking, imbibing loads of fine liquor or other vices glamourized on Hollywood films. What have we learned about cigarette smoking and our health? The link to lung cancer has been taken seriously. It’s just one smart reason why so many individuals have wisely stopped smoking. The link between drinking heavily and liver disease is no longer ignored either.
  www.SabaBotanical.com
Although, initially quite apprehensive and understandably nervous about changing a bad habit, those that have made the change are normally quite happy with their decision. Many have also found healthier activities to replace the former detrimental vices and are not only pleased, but completely satisfied, knowing they’ve made a wise lifestyle change. www.SabaBotanical.com

It’s similar with our hair. For many years, many of us have used chemical hair dyes; however, we have now been enlightened. If you read this blog regularly, as well as the Saba Botanical website, you are quite knowledgeable about the dangers of synthetic dyes and the potential dangers to your health. Therefore, why not make the change to something better?

Talk to your hair stylist. Don’t be surprised if they don’t welcome the idea of using an all-natural hair dye that promotes healthy hair growth and brings out your true natural highlights. On the other hand, Lustrous Henna® All-Natural Hair Color Dye might be the just the product they’ve been searching for! Most hair stylists have “problem” clients whose hair doesn’t react well to chemicals of any kind. Who knows? They may just thank you!

Still, don’t fret if your hair stylist is unwilling to change his or her method of applying hair dye to meet your current needs. Usually, if you refuse to not be swayed from your decision, they’ll attend to your needs. If not, the very last resort (hopefully, it won’t come to this) is to find a good stylist that’s willing to work with you using Lustrous Henna® All-Natural Hair Color Dye. They’re out there and the numbers are happily growing!

When you make this wise lifestyle decision, you’ll no longer be nervous, but ecstatic and extremely content with your choice.

Dear Syed,
Last week during a phone conversation, you helped me choose the proper color of "Lustrous Henna". I received it in a very timely manner and applied it last night. This was the first time I attempted to color my hair myself and was very nervous:)...however, I am very happy to say that I'm THRILLED with the results!!! While I was about 40% gray, I got great coverage and am confident that another application next week will take care of the few remaining gray hairs:) The color is so natural looking, and the highlights that run throughout my hair are very pretty. Thank you so much for your help and kindness when we spoke, it was very much appreciated. I know I'll be a customer of "Lustrous Henna" for many years to come, and will definitely spread the word to friends and family members! Sincerely, Rosalie

Bridget-Before_After_Lustrous-Henna-Saba-Botanical_400x375 Hello Syed,
I told you I would send you pictures of before and after. I hope these will help. Let me know if there's anything else that would help. Thank you again for all your kind help.

"Love your product! I am 85% grey and ordered the Henna Soft Black along with the Indigo. I used three parts of Henna Soft Black and one part of Indigo. I love the results. I got a very dark brown to black color hair which was exactly what I was looking for.
I used chemical dyes two or three times and developed severe reactions to the chemicals used in those products. With the Henna Soft Black and Indigo I just get great looking hair with no reactions. Would recommend to anyone looking for natural products". Mr.Sam K. Laredo, TX

Saba Botanical,
Hi Syed, I just wanted to give my input on your wonderful hair products. Not only have you given me the best service, but I have had many satisfied customers who suffer from side effects of chemical hair dyes. There is a great variety of colors to choose from and no worries of side effects or dry damaged hair. Many of my customers (men & women) including my mom have said their hair has strengthened and shines beautifully.
Thank you Syed for providing me with the best service and results for my clients.
Yours in health,
Rita :)

Have Healthy Oils in Your Kitchen and Bath? Prevent Hair Loss. Grow Your Hair. Pt. 2

Flaxseed Oil Benefits

Flax seeds & Flaxseed Oil Flaxseed oil contains an abundance of Omega-3 fatty acids that contribute to healthy hair growth. It’s known to revitalize the scalp in part due to its anti-inflammatory properties. The essential fatty acids have been known to combat psoriasis and eczema. Flaxseed oil, when taken as a dietary supplement, also promotes shiny, radiant and healthy hair. www.SabaBotanical.com

Flaxseed oil can be found in whole food markets and other all-natural or herb stores. You can make your own at a fraction of the price and make sure it’s stored in amber glass instead of black plastic, but you will have to invest in a cold-press oil extractor.

To make Cold-Pressed Flaxseed Oil, you’ll still need to purchase flax seed and an oil press extractor. Flax seed can be found easily in international farmer's markets and better grocery stores. For information on purchasing an Oil Press Extractor unit, do your own research and make your own purchasing decision according to your budget and personal need:

Have Healthy Oils in Your Kitchen & Bath? Prevent Hair Loss & Grow Your Hair. Pt. 1

Hair Healthy Oils include: Virgin Coconut Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil & Cold-Pressed Castor Oil

Did you know that natural herbal oils you probably already use for skin care are known to help protect, strengthen, regrow hair and eliminate dandruff? They’re easy to apply, and when used along with the natural botanical powders at Saba Botanical of USA, might make a difference in your rate of hair growth in just a few short months.

www,SabaBotanical.com Virgin Coconut Oil Benefits and Hair Care Application

Virgin Coconut oil is unadulterated and free of chemical or other additives. Virgin Coconut oil is an excellent pre-shampoo treatment because it not only coats the hair, it penetrates the hair shaft.

Coconut oil has been used to promote hair growth, literally, for centuries. Protein loss is reduced and hair is protected from drying and breaking due to the medium chain triglycerides (MCT) contain within coconut oil. This is also a substance that is contained in sebum (an oily substance secreted from the sebaceous glands that keep the scalp moist). The scalp contains ‘friendly’ bacteria that break down the MCT into free fatty acids. This is what provides protection against scalp problems such as dandruff and head lice. The oil also adds a radiant sheen to the hair.

www,SabaBotanical.com Use with Natural Botanical Products from Saba Botanical

1. Oil your scalp and roots, then section your hair, lightly applying oil from ends to roots prior to using Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder. Start off with a light oiling of ½ tsp. or less, until the proper amount is obtained.

2. Wrap Hair in plastic wrap/plastic cap and leave oil on for about 30 minutes. If you want a hot oil treatment, add heat for 15-20 minutes.

3. Wet hair and apply prepared Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste* to hair with fingertips (a small rubber spatula can aid in application, but not necessary). Making the shampoo paste takes about 30 seconds. Press and lightly massage throughout hair. (follow-up gently-using a large-tooth comb for full coverage). Leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse out until hair is completely free of shampoo.

4. There is no need to follow up with a conditioner if you have fine to normal hair. However, if you insist on using a conditioner try Imbue Nuturing Conditioner. If you have extremely dry, course or damaged hair, try So Natural™ Moisture Gloss Conditioner from Saba Botanical of USA.

Make Virgin Coconut Oil At Home

Would you like to make your own virgin coconut oil? It’s really quite simple and you will avoid chemical additives.

* For Lustrous Henna® Dry Shampoo Powder paste: Depending on length of hair, simply mix 2-3 tbsp. of the dry shampoo powder with enough water to make a paste with the consistency of pancake batter. (A small rubber spatula, plastic spoon or fork can be used for mixing paste.)

A testimonial about Lustrous Henna® All Natural Hair Color Dye
My name is Gail G. live in Los Angeles Ca. I am an interior designer and have to look my best at all times. Several months ago, I developed an allergy to all salon products. They started to burn my scalp ,even the so-called henna products I tried all had some kind of chemical ingredients. My husband found out about Saba on the Internet and I sent away for your product. Since I started using Saba, there has been no more burning, and the color is rich and naturally beautiful. It is a great and safe product ,and I highly recommend it.
