L.J. O’Neal and Lustrous Henna®, My Personal Experience.

I have osteoarthritis. Instead of working out in the gym, using a treadmill or walking for exercise: I work out in a pool, doing aqua aerobics and water jogging. As long as I work out in the water, I have freedom of movement and I love it.

What in the world does that have to do with Lustrous Henna®?

This: Sometimes you have to try an alternative treatment to get the healthy results you want and need.

Many people are afraid to try alternative treatments or therapies even when the benefits are clearly apparent. However, usually they find that they not only are very satisfied with the results, but eventually can’t imagine their life without it! 

An example, in my case, was in recognizing there was a proven alternative to using my traditional pure henna that could save me lots of prep time and also enhance the condition of my hair. I never imagined pure henna that was lab certified and tested could remain totally natural. An added plus is that it’s mixed with natural botanical extracts to create a rainbow of natural shades in hair colors that bring out my own natural beauty. 

I had suffered severe allergic reactions to chemical dyes. When I decided to look for natural alternative, I used a product that I thought was totally natural, called, “black henna”. It was not.  Thus my scalp was damaged with both types of dyes and it took quite a while for my hair to grow back and scalp to heal and feel healthy. I also had a small chemical burn bald spot where very little hair grew, in the back of my head at the base of my neck. 

 
At that time, I was quite embarrassed about the condition of my hair because I also sang in front of small audiences at special celebrations and events. I mainly sing jazz and R&B -and even though I didn't care to, I had to admit that on those occasions, I looked better donning a hair piece or a wig. 

Ultimately, I learned about using pure henna and indigo to dye my hair black. I would spent hours waiting for the pure henna's dye release to occur and then I would follow this up with an application of pure indigo. I was grateful for this method because I finally got my black hair covered. I still had to do a lot to condition my hair and try to get it to grow. It started to grow slowly. I continued to search for an easier way and this led me to finding the Saba Botanical website. I read about 100 % natural Lustrous Henna® and I admit that I was skeptical at first that with such a fast dye release, my hair would achieve color. I also called and spoke directly with Syed Abbas (the inspiration behind Lustrous Henna® and owner of Saba Botanicals of USA.) who graciously answered my questions.

So I decided to: Take ‘a leap of faith’. Not blind faith though, it was an ‘educated faith’.

Now, my hair has finally grown back in all areas. I was so happy with my singing at the last couple events. I could finally show my natural hair and concentrate on my performance instead of being worried about my looks. I felt like a tremendous burden had been lifted and I loved reflecting my joy in my singing.

 My hair condition is probably the healthiest it’s been in years. It is very soft and my curl pattern is looser, which I like. Also, I can easily cover my gray roots and can do so when needed. This is important because my hair has been growing in quicker lately and even though I’m letting it grow, I still want to cover up the gray roots when they come in. Now I do it naturally and have only experienced positive results. I’m very happy that I no longer have to wait several hours for a traditional henna dye release and that I can dye my hair when I only have an hour or two.
