Apple Cider Vinegar -Treat Greasy Hair Problems Naturally

apple cider vinegar jarApple Cider Vinegar Rinse Benefits

An ACV or apple cider vinegar rinse is quite beneficial for treating oily hair. It rinses off excess oil and discourages dandruff. It also cuts soap and shampoo residue, leaving hair soft, smooth and naturally shiny. The vinegar smell does not remain after rinsing, so don’t worry. No more oily hair!

No More Greasy Hair Worries

Our hair and skin benefits with -just enough oil- to keep it supple.. However, when our skin produces too much oil, problems are created. The same applies to hair. Too much oil creates greasy hair that is essentially dull and lifeless. The hair becomes very heavy and then attracts more dirt, which can lead to dandruff troubles. Greasy hair can also have split ends. Don't fret, greasy hair worries can be eliminated with proper natural treatment.

Apple Cider Vinegar Herbal Rinse for Oily Hair

1 pint boiling water
1 teaspoon each: burdock root, calendula flowers, chamomile flowers, lavender flowers, lemongrass and sage leaves
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Pour boiling water over herbs and steep for about 30 minutes. Strain and add the vinegar. Pour over scalp and hair as final rinse after shampooing (with either shampoo suggested below). Leave on without rinsing out.

Simple Herbal Shampoo for Oily Hair Care

Lustrous-Henna-Shampoo-PowderLustrous Henna® Shampoo Powder is 100% natural and premixed with hibiscus flower and other natural herbal extracts. Just add a small amount of water and make a paste. Apply to hair. Wait 5-10 minutes and rinse out.

Hair Dye with Metallic Salts –a Danger for Men and Women

Hair Dye and Textile Dyeing

WARNING:  Metallic Salts -Extreme Caution MUST Be Used in Textile Dyeing

Generally, in natural textile dyeing, the objective in selecting a mordant (a substance that sets the dye) -is to try and select the least toxic one! Metallic salts are commonly used as a mordant in textile dyeing and a tremendous amount of caution has to be exercised to avoid toxic reaction.

Be Careful! Avoid Metallic Salts in Hair Dye.WARNING:  Metallic Salts -a Toxic Poison in Hair Dyeing

Human hair fiber should definitely be treasured and treated with more care than the clothes on our backs. Shouldn't caution of the highest extreme be used when selecting a hair dye to color our hair ‘fibers’? Yet, drug store and beauty supply houses are lined with shelves of these toxic hair dyes!

In fact, care must be exercised even when purchasing what we believe to be 'natural' henna hair dye mixes. Reading ingredient labels is absolutely essential. However, some countries aren't required to even list their ingredients on the label and these products are being exported to the United States and other countries! Unsuspecting consumers reason that if they are being sold at the local retail store, then they must be safe to use.

Metallic salt is included in the ingredients of the majority of chemical hair dye products, as well as so-called ‘natural compound henna’ hair dye mixes. Unknowingly, many consumers are misled by advertising that motivate them to use harmful hair dyes in the pursuit of more youthful looks.
Men- Cover Gray Naturally.
For instance, the hair dyes for men, that gradually cover gray hair are filled with metallic salt. These dyes have been banned in many European countries. However, they’re easily found on the grocery shelves in the U.S.A. and a few other countries. In view of the toxicity of these ingredients, why take a chance with your health and hair? Avoid potential adverse dermatological reactions from these and other chemical ingredients.

Stay away from faulty hair dye packaging! A few years ago, I wanted to try what I thought was natural hair color dye. I ordered a premixed “natural” henna hair dye from an online store and suffered a severe allergic reaction from the metallic salt that was in the product (even though the henna compound did not contain PPD). My hair fell out in spots and my scalp broke out in horrible blisters. I had to wear a wig for months until my hair grew back and my skin cleared. That was the sad end of using chemical hair dyes -and the search for totally natural hair color- for me!

Avoid Metallic Salt in Hair Dyes –Go Totally Natural.

Use a truly all natural henna hair dye. Even the FDA approves of it as totally natural hair color dye. Traditionally, you could do your own mixing of plants and herbs to color your hair. Then wait literally for hours for the dye release to take place, before applying the paste on your hair –but you no longer have to. Quite frankly, most folks just don’t have the time.

Saba Botanical of USA has contributed in groundbreaking research and promotion of nontoxic, natural  solutions for dyeing natural hair color -with a quick dye release. This has led to the creation of Lustrous Henna, a top quality plant-based, natural hair color dye, mixed with other completely all natural botanicals to create more than ten shades of totally natural hair color. They also carry top quality pure henna for traditional mixing, body art quality henna and a variety of other all-natural botanicals for healthier hair care.

Pedicure at Home –a Personal Spa Treatment for Your Feet

personal spa at home.Pedicure at Home.

Ready for great fun and a lustrous pedicure in the privacy of your own home? Get Ready: For a personal pedicure, you’ll need a comfy robe, turban and open slippers (optional, but lots of fun). Also: towels, washcloths, dishes, access to bathroom and kitchen sinks, etc.

Make sure you have a Lustrous Henna ® Face & Body Mask pack available for your pedicure. Remember: a little goes a long way and you should have enough for several “happy feet” evenings.

Create a Spa-like Atmosphere for Your Foot Bath

Music: nature sounds like the ocean, trickling brooks, soft classical music or some cool jazz. Lightly scented candles or essential oil simmering in water on stovetop or oil burner are aromatic and heighten the senses. A glass of good wine or a cocktail can help create a pair of very happy feet too!

Foot Bath Pedicure

foot bath.“Happy Feet” foot bath prep: Take a golf ball and rub it around the foot, concentrating on the arch andsides; or set a smooth river rock on carpeting and walk on the stone for a few minutes. If you have enough smooth rocks, you can also add them to a basin filled with warm Lustrous Henna® Soapnut (Reetha Fruit) Powder/water solution. Rub your feet back and forth on the stones. All workouts are soothing and massage the feet.

Foot bath to exfoliate and cleanse: Fill large dishpan, bucket or whatever will fit your tootsies with warm Lustrous Henna® Soapnut (Reetha Fruit) Powder /water solution. Soak feet in the foot bath for several minutes. Using a pumice stone (or similar item), scrub calluses off heels. Rinse, then pat dry.

Apply foot mask: Apply to entire foot up to ankles. After 15-30 minutes, remove mask by rinsing feet in same container, replaced with clean water. After removing foot mask, if you want to proceed with toenail manicure, do so. Gently rub feet in favorite natural skin oil; pat dry. Be gentle!

"The Face and Body Mask is hands down my favorite product."

Many of you know that I’m a spa brat. You can rub me down with just about anything at a spa-mud, seaweed, chocolate, blueberries- I’ve done it all. This is one of the best facial masks I have ever tried. It mixes with water and apply the paste. I left it on for about an hour and then washed off.

You can feel it tightening on your face and your face just lifting. It is the cheapest facelift you will ever get! After I washed it off I noticed an immediate glow and smoothness to my face. My skin seemed to be much more even-shaded and just wonderful. And, since I only used it on my face, I only used needed a small amount of the package. So... I could get 3-4 facials; that is my idea of home economics!

One Happy Man’s Testimonial
"Love your product! I am 85% grey and ordered the Lustrous Henna Soft Black along with the Indigo. I used three parts of Lustrous Henna Soft Black and one part of Indigo. I love the results. I got a very dark brown to black color hair which was exactly what I was looking for.

I used chemical dyes two or three times and developed severe reactions to the chemicals used in those products. With the Lustrous Henna Soft Black and Indigo I just get great looking hair with no reactions. Would recommend to anyone looking for natural products".

A Happy Testimonial
Dear Syed,
I Love Lustrous Henna. I've been meaning to write to you about your excellent product. I used Lustrous Henna this weekend and it was by far the best experience and result I've had from a henna-based product.  The creamy formula was easy to apply and rinse out (unlike so many other henna products I've tried), and the color is vibrant.

I achieved much better coverage of my grays than with any other product and I intend to keep on using it. Also, I'm going to bring your pamphlet to a local health food store and praise Lustrous Henna to the max!  Thanks so much for a great product, Syed.

All the best,
Doretta W. from Portland, CT
