Denise LOVES Lustrous Henna Face and Body Mask Treatment!

The Face and Body mask is hands down my favorite product
Many of you know that I’m a spa brat. You can rub me down with just about anything at a spa- mud, seaweed, chocolate, blueberries- I’ve done it all.

This is one of the best facial masks I have ever tried.
It mixes with water and apply the paste. I left it on for about an hour and then washed off. You can feel it tightening on your face and your face just lifting. It is the cheapest facelift you will ever get! After I washed it off I noticed an immediate glow and smoothness to my face. My skin seemed to be much more even-shaded and just wonderful. And, since I only used it on my face, I only used needed a small amount of the package. So...I could get 3-4 facials; that is my idea of home economics!Denise

Allergic Reaction: Is PPD Really Worth the Risks?

Allergic Reaction to Chemical Hair Dye is On the Rise

Avoid allergic reaction to PPD.
Even though most of us have read or heard about the dangers of coloring our hair with hair dye containing the chemical para-phenylenediamine (PPD),
  • Are we really listening, learning and heeding the warnings about serious allergic reaction -that grows riskier with each use?
  • Or do we figure that 'dying to look good' is worth it?
  • Really what kind of ingredient is PPD in most hair dye ‘recipes’?

According to the FDA, American Cancer Society, CDC, NIH, National Cancer Institute and a plethora of other consumer organizations,

Avoid PPD in hair dye. www.sababotanical.comPPD in hair dye is known to:

Cause allergic reaction including redness, rashes, sores, burning sensations, itching and headaches.
Be a possible carcinogen after oxidation, linked to increasing the occurrence of various forms of cancer such as: non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Multiple myeloma, Breast Cancer, Leukemia, Bladder Cancer.
If that isn’t enough, according to a report (02/2012) from leading chemical company Dupont, the dangers of PPD in hair dye is well-documented.
See Material Safety Data Sheet 130000000233. (10 page pdf.)

So what’s guy or girl to do?

Are there alternative hair coloring dyes that are genuinely all natural that won’t damage our health with allergic reaction?
Can we have great looking hair color without using harmful, deadly chemical dyes?

Can we really have our cake and eat it too? In a word: Yes.

Hair Dye -All Natural in Powder Form. WHY?

LustrousHennaPKGHair Dye -All Natural in Powder Form

Question for Saba Botanical of USA:

Is your product only in powder form?  Is there any chance of you creating a liquid hair dye or gel form natural dye?

Syed’s Answer:

“We have in the past looked into making Lustrous Henna® in cream/gel or liquid form. Unfortunately herbs used in Lustrous Henna® are not stable in Liquid form for a longer period. In order for it to be stable, it has to be made in alcohol base and heavy preservatives and synthetic material needs to be added.
Currently the only way we can keep this product all natural is by leaving it in powder form.”
With Kind Regards,

Syed

Customer Response about Lustrous Henna® and Saba Botanical of USA:

I am writing to congratulate you on a superb natural product that I will continue to use on my hair forever!!

I had a horrible encounter with an over-the-counter hair dye that contained PPD. I had an emergency room visit and the fear of never being able to cover my grey. I have jet black hair and it really bothered me to not be able to have the choice of bringing back its natural color state. I then found your website and decided to try your Lustrous Henna. Believe me- at first I was extremely scared, thinking that it would cause another horrific health event- But I did the patch test and all went well, so I applied the paste and I can't believe the results!!!!!!!!!

Not only am I NOT IN FEAR OF USING YOUR PRODUCT- but my hair looks absolutely amazing!! I can't thank you enough for creating this fantastic organic product for those of us that can't tolerate and choose not to use the toxic chemically overloaded hair dyes. I will be a customer for life and intend to spread the word!! A thousand thank you's!!!!!!!

Warmest Wishes,

Ally Shade

Hair Dye and Hair Growth Protection Today.

Midievel-woman-www.sababotanical.comHair Growth and Hair Dye in Ancient Times

Centuries ago when modern day chemical concoctions were not available, the henna plant was dried and made into henna dye. Henna dye was used for beautifying hair, conditioning and promoting hair growth as well as dying the skin. Henna produced one color when used alone: bright, reddish-orange hair. Artificial dyes were also used and they were exceptionally risky to the hair shaft . The choice of color was limited and various colors were obtained by more than a few dangerous methods. Note the following examples of recorded ancient hair:

“Dying hair was popular among women, although the frequency that hair was coloured often made it weaker. Tertullian discusses how hair dye burnt the scalp and was harmful for the head.Artificial dyes could be applied through powders, gels and bleach. Henna, a temporary dye, or even animal fat, could be applied to make the hair more manageable.²

Aside from henna, more common permanent dyes were based on natural substances and perhaps more unorthodox mixtures. For example, to dye hair black, Pliny the Elder³ suggests applying leeches that have rotten in red wine for 40 days.”4

Additionally, for ‘natural’ hair color, animal fat was mixed with beechwood ashes for red hair. Saffron dyed hair gold. To stop hair loss and grow hair, Pliny, referred to ‘treatments’ such as: applying a pig’s gall bladder mixed with bulls urine…”other mixtures such as the ashes of a deer’s antlers mixed with wine”. Head lice? The ‘cure’ was goat’s milk or goat’s dung.5

Henna-plant-with-flower. www.sababotanical.comHair Growth and Hair Dying Protection Today

Chemical dyes thin the hair which reduces the strength of hair shaft whereas, truly all-natural henna hair dye thickens and nourishes your hair shaft while increasing its strength.
The FDA has recommended vegetable/plant based dye as an alternative to using harmful chemical dyes containing PPD and other chemicals; as well as, bleaching agents such as ammonia and/or peroxide which damage the outer most layer and create capillaries in the hair shaft . PPD, OPD, MPD like chemical color fills these capillaries, enter in the inner layer and remain stuck inside, as permanent color. The next application again does the same on hair shaft. This results in loss of strength, roughness and permanent damage to hair.

Totally natural henna hair dye colors hair by coating the hair shaft. It provides thickness to hair and stick as a semi-permanent color. The next application again does the same and results in increase in strength and shine in your hair.

Krista-b-www.sababotanical.comHenna hair dye also works to promote:

  • Hair growth by: strengthening hair so it won't get split ends.
  • Hair growth by:  conditioning and protecting hair, instead of stripping hair from the natural protein it needs to stay healthy and grow.
  • Hair growth by: not causing the hair shaft to dry, and become lifeless and brittle.
  • Hair growth by: containing other herbal extracts that are known to prevent hair loss, herbs that are known for anti-dandruff properties and to improve overall health of your hair.

Inferior Hair Dye vs. Superior Hair Dye

Chemical hair dye is simply inferior to natural plant-based hair dye and extremely harmful to hair. Totally natural henna hair dye is simply superior to harsh chemical hair dye. Hair is protected from hair loss and damage, resulting in healthy hair benefits for men and women.

Medical Doctor Recommendation

Dear Syed,

I, Dr.Bhagwan Bang, a pediatrician who had extensive allergic reaction with color dye. While reading about allergic reaction to chemical in Annual of Pediatrics, published by North Western College of medicine Chicago, I came to know about your product and is extremely pleased to say that it was wonderful. I never had reaction with LUSTROUS HENNA of yours. I have no hesitation in recommending to anybody.

Thanks,

Natural Hair Care from a Beneficial, Ancient Tree.

AcaciaCatechu--www.sababotanical.comNatural Hair Care and Lustrous Henna®

Flowering trees all over the world have been known to possess medicinal powers since ancient times.

We have discussed the healthful properties of henna hair dye many times and why is it frequently recommended by dermatologists as an alternative to using chemical hair color dye. Acacia catechu (Katha, Khair) is just one of the natural botanicals that make up some shades of the henna hair dye called, Lustrous Henna®. What can we learn about this age-old flowering tree, henna hair dye and natural hair care?

About Acacia Catechu (Katha, Khair)

Its synonyms are varied: Catechu, Cutch, Katha, Khair and more, depending on the use of different parts of the tree.  The tree is found in the forests of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and other Asian countries. According to the World Agro Forestry Centre, “Acacia catechu is a small or medium-sized, thorny tree up to 15 m tall; bark dark grey or greyish-brown, peeling off in long strips, or sometimes in narrow rectangular plates, brown or red inside.”*

The flowers are long spikes with color of white to pale yellow, numerous stamens. The fruit is contained within a strap-shaped pod tapering at both ends.

“In India, three varieties, namely: var. catechu, var. catechuoides and var sundra are recognized. The generic name, ‘acacia’, comes from the Greek word ‘akis’, meaning a point or a barb. The species name comes from 'cutch', a tanning extract isolated from its heartwood.”**

Acacia_catechu_Bark--www.sababotanical.comAcacia Catechu Growing, Cultivation and Uses

Acacia catechu leaves are shed around February and new leaves appear near the end of April or May. The flowers appear when the new leaves appear and flowering continues until July or August. Pods rapidly develop and are full-size by September or October. They ripen from November to early January.

Throughout the country of India, the use of Acacia catechu as a tanning agent goes back centuries. It was called, ‘cacho’ in a European writing in AD 1514 where it was mentioned as being exported from Cambay to Malacca. In the 17th century it was used in Europe and by the early 19th century, France imported it for commercial use.

There are numerous uses for this ancient plant; however, we’ll focus on what’s pertinent to our overall theme: natural hair care and henna hair dye. A substance called cutch is extracted from the bark and is used for extracting color and dyeing textiles as well as coloring hair. Catechu extract is also used to dye textiles such as silk, cotton, canvas, paper and leather to a dark-brownish color.

love your hair! www.sababotanical.comQuality Ingredients in Lustrous Henna®

Sharing a testimonial:
Thank you for this excellent product.  I have been using henna for years, as I have a severe allergy to hair dye.  I have never had such good coverage and had the color last for so long. Because the texture of the henna is creamier, it is easier to use and less messy.  I get complimented on my hair color frequently.
Thanks again,
Debra from Feura Bush, NY
