Acne Treatment Needed? Try Fullers Earth –An Ancient Treatment!

Acne Treatment:  About Multani Mitti (Fullers Earth)

Do you suffer from severe acne? Are you embarrassed by an excessively oily face? You’ve probably tried numerous medications for acne treatment, but haven’t had much success. Well then, how about trying something ‘new’ (for you)? It actually is an old remedy that has been proven to work for hundreds of years as an effective acne treatment.

Multani Clay* Powder (Fullers Earth) has been used as a natural treatment for acne for centuries by men and women all over the world. It’s also called Fuller’s Earth formed by decomposed volcanic ash. It contains minerals like alumina, silica, lime, magnesia, iron oxides contained within the clay that produce an abundance of health benefits for the whole body.

Multani Clay (Fullers Earth) is great for drawing dead cells and excess oils from the skin. It also stimulates circulation to the skin. It absorbs bacteria, toxins and reduces water loss.  The skin is then rejuvenated and becomes smooth, soft and supple.

Acne Treatment:  How to Use Multani Clay (Fullers Earth)

Multani Clay as a skin treatment is extremely absorbent. Mixed with enough water to make a paste, it is used as a face mask (10-15 minutes) to remove excessive oil from the skin. The only caution is, that the multani clay should not be left on the skin for an excessive amount of time, because it could cause over drying.

My Henna Hair Dye Rescue from Chemical Dye Scalp Damage

Chemical hair dye damage. Hair loss. Before Henna Hair Dye

A few years ago, I suffered severe allergic reactions to chemical hair dye. When I decided to look for a chemical hair dye alternative, I used a product that I thought was a natural herbal hair dye, called, “black henna”. It was not.  Thus my scalp was damaged with both types of hair dye and it took quite a while for my hair to grow back and scalp to heal and feel healthy. I also had a small chemical burn spot from the hair dye, where very little hair grew, in the back of my head at the base of my neck.

At that time, I was quite embarrassed about the condition of my hair because I also sang in front of small audiences at special celebrations and events. Even though I didn't care to, I had to admit that on those occasions, I looked better donning a black hair piece or a wig.

How I felt with Lustrous Henna. (Author not pictured). After Henna Hair Dye
After some researching, I learned about using pure henna and indigo to dye my hair black. I would spend hours and hours, waiting for the pure henna's dye release to occur; then I would follow this up with an application of pure indigo. I was grateful for this method because I finally got my black hair covered. I still had to do a lot to condition my hair and try to get it to grow. My black hair started to grow back very slowly.

I continued to search for an easier way to apply henna hair dye and this led me to finding the Saba Botanical of USA website. I read about 100 % natural Lustrous Henna® and I admit that I was skeptical at first that with such a fast dye release, my hair would achieve color.

I decided to: Take ‘a leap of faith’. Now, my hair has finally grown back in all areas. I could finally show my natural black hair, instead of being worried about my looks. I felt like a tremendous burden had been lifted.

The Rest of My Henna Hair Dye Story

My hair condition is probably the healthiest it’s been in years. It is very soft and my curl pattern is looser, which I like. Also, I can easily cover my gray roots as often as needed. This is important because my hair has been growing in quicker lately and I want to cover up the gray roots when they come in. Now I do it naturally and have still experienced positive results. I’m very happy that I no longer have to wait several hours for a traditional henna dye release and that I can dye my hair when I only have an hour or two. I’ve happily used Lustrous Henna® Soft Black for the past few years; and I love my black hair so much, that I write the Lustrous Henna blog for Saba Botanical.

Got Gray Hair? Color it Naturally.

Gray Hair Colored Naturally. Will You Make the Effort?

Sometimes you have to try an alternative treatment to get the healthy results you want and need for your body.
For example, I have osteoarthritis. Instead of working out in the gym, using a treadmill or walking for exercise: I work out in a pool, doing aqua aerobics and water jogging. As long as I work out in the water, I have freedom of movement and I love it.

Many people are afraid to try alternative treatments or therapies even when the benefits are clearly apparent. However, usually they find that they not only are very satisfied with the results, but eventually can’t imagine their life without it!

The same is very true when coloring gray hair naturally.  Since gray hair is sometimes resistant to 'change', some folks prefer to take their chances with chemical hair dye. They choose to ignore the warnings, believing that ‘nothing will happen to me...I've been dying my hair for years.'

Unfortunately, many have suffered severe damage to their scalp and hair, even after years of chemical hair dye use. It happened to me and I have a scar at the nape of my neck to remind me of the harm that chemical dye can cause. Fortunately, I've made the effort to color my gray hair with a natural, plant-based hair dye and my whole head of hair is thankful for it. The effort is definitely worth it.

Bridget Lustrous Henna -2 applicationsA Hair Dye that Naturally Colors Your Hair

Lustrous Henna® has worked wonderfully for my resistant grays. It's a hair dye that's quick to apply when compared to traditional henna applications. I have black hair with silver gray edges on my front hair line, with a silver streak that I've inherited. Oooh...I just shared a secret! No one knew I had that much gray. I confess that sometimes I have to use a second application of Lustrous Henna® to get these stubborn grays completely black, but my hair LOVES me for it. Others have had the same great experience. Will you be next?

Henna Hair Dye -Pure Body Art Quality Henna

Saba Pure Henna PowderHenna Hair Dye -Body Art Quality  (BAQ)

If you prefer to use the ancient, traditional method of henna hair dye application, as well as higher dye content henna for body art and other formulations, Saba Botanical of USA provides pure, body art quality henna (Lawsonia Inermis).

Where Henna Hair Dye -Body Art Quality is Grown

This 100% natural, pure henna is grown in Rajasthan, India. Rajasthani henna is widely acclaimed as the source of the world’s best henna, being farmed and produced for generations. When the henna leaves are processed, the henna is tediously examined and finely sifted to maintain high quality. It’s then packaged in air-tight plastic bags and again sealed in foil packaging to protect and ensure freshness; also to protect from light and moisture.

Using Henna Hair Dye -Body Art Quality to Color Hair

  • This body art quality henna is contains no other herbs. It’s entirely safe to use on hair.
  • The highly sifted body art quality henna makes it easy apply and to rinse out hair.
  • Body art quality henna permanently dyes the hair, as well as covers gray hair. Over time, it will darken and not fade out. If used by itself, your hair color will be bright coppery red on light hair or darker hair can be varying shade of reds: from reddish brown, auburn to deep copper tone depending on usage and original hair color.
  • If body art quality henna is properly mixed with indigo, it will produce a jet black hair color.**

No Worries Using BAQ Henna to Cover Chemical Hair Dye

Yes. You can use 100% pure body BAQ henna over a commercial hair dye or chemical residue in hair. There are no added chemical dyes or metallic salts in our body art quality henna. It is 100% pure and contains no other ingredient. So you should have no worries about dangerous allergic reaction from a chemical dye. No worries about ingredients that will risk your health.

Saba Botanical of USA sells pure, body art quality (Lawsonia Inermis). Sold in 100 gm. packages, currently $3.99 each.
An Interior Designer's Experience

My name is Gail  and I live in Los Angeles CA. I am an interior designer and have to look my best at all times. Several months ago, I developed an allergy to all salon products. They started to burn my scalp ,even the so-called henna products I tried all had some kind of chemical ingredients. My husband found out about Saba on the Internet and I sent away for your product. Since I started using Saba, there has been no more burning, and the color is rich and naturally beautiful. It is a great and safe product ,and I highly recommend it.

Thank you,
Gail G.

Senna Brings Out Golden Highlights on a Cloudy Day

Saba Cassia ObovataNatural Hair Color -Golden Highlights Cassia Obovata (Senna)

Cassia Obovata (Senna) will naturally condition all textures of hair, adding luster and supple definition. It is also known to improve scalp condition and eliminates dandruff. If your natural hair color is blonde or gray, it will brighten and add golden hues and golden highlights (depending on length of time Senna is left on your hair). If your natural hair color is brunette or black, you will still reap the deep conditioning benefits found in pure Cassia Obovata (Senna) –but it will not bring out golden highlights if you don’t have any naturally.

Cassia Obovata is also called Senna (Senna Obovata). There are over 400 species of the Cassia Obovata plant. The ground powder is made from harvested, dried leaves of the plant. Although it has various medicinal uses, this powder is often used to condition, thicken, define and color or highlight natural hair color.

About Cassia Obovata (Senna) from Saba Botanical

Cassia Obovata or Senna is an herb that is frequently marketed as “Neutral Henna”. As noted above, the plant has a number of beneficial properties that help condition and soften the hair. However, it is not Henna or made from the Henna plant as is the case with true Neutral Henna.

According to Wikipedia, “Another Senna, Senna  italica (=Cassia obovata), often called "neutral henna", is used as a hair treatment with effects similar to henna but without the red color. The active component is an anthraquinone derivative called chrysophanic acid. It adds a slight yellow color.”

The yellow color is left when the Senna made into a paste and is left on the hair for long periods of time. The staining and conditioning properties of Senna (similar to Henna staining and conditioning) might be one of the reasons it is often marketed as “neutral henna”.

Buy Cassia Obovata and Neutral Henna from a Reputable Source

Be assured that, when you buy Senna from Saba Botanical of USA, it is called: "Cassia Obovata". It is not called, “Neutral Henna”. Lustrous Henna® Neutral Henna is a powder made from the stem of the henna plant and does not emit color, but accentuates the natural highlights in the hair. It's also a hair conditioner. It is not Cassia Obovata.

If you love your natural hair color and want pure all-natural Cassia Obovata (Pure Senna) to bring out the natural golden highlights of your hair, buy it from a reputable source.

1 jar (2.5oz.) of organic baby food bananas*
4 tbsp. Lustrous Henna® Shampoo Powder**
  1. Puree all the ingredients completely until thick and creamy like thick pudding. If you need a little more milk or L.H. Shampoo Powder, than add some to get proper consistency.
  2. Pour mixture into a cup or bowl and apply to hair. Application can be very messy and dripping, so you might want to apply over a sink or in the shower. Wrap hair in plastic wrap or cap. Use a smooth cloth or towel around hairline to absorb the dripping mask.
  3. Wait 15 minutes and thoroughly rinse out.
  4. This step is optional, since this recipe is an all-in-one shampoo/conditioner.
If you desire to follow up with another conditioner, then Imbue™ Natural Conditioneris highly recommended.
  5. Let hair dry naturally.
  6. Gently style your hair.
Try this  L.H. Shampoo Powder and coconut milk  “one-two punch” of essential vitamins, minerals and herbs -to wake up your hair and scalp and protect it from sun damage – naturally.
Lustrous Henna Shampoo Powder Conditions Hair and Promotes Hair Growth.
*You can use a fresh banana, but be warned: If using ripe bananas, make sure they are totally pureed, to avoid getting banana pieces and flakes in your hair. Rinsing out these pieces can be difficult – so make sure it a complete puree. (This is the reason I use organic baby food bananas; as well as the fact that organic baby food bananas have the same amount of essential vitamins and minerals as a fresh banana. In case you were wondering...)

** Lustrous Henna® Shampoo Powder can be purchased at Saba Botanical of USA. Organic coconut milk can be purchased at a natural foods store.

# Imbue™ Natural Conditioner: This natural herbal conditioner plant extracts as Bhringraj, Aloe Vera, Wheat germ oil, Almond oil, etc. It contains no harsh chemicals; no artificial colors.
