Truly Neutral Henna –Fact or Fiction? You Decide. Part 2 of 2

www.SabaBotanical.com TRUE NEUTRAL HENNA IS NOT A MYTH.

Fact: Truly Neutral Henna does indeed exist. It is a powder made from the stem of the henna plant and does not emit color, but accentuates the natural highlights in the hair and is also a hair conditioner. This powder can also be combined with other natural botanicals to increase the conditioning properties.

Caveat emptor (Let the Buyer Beware).

Know the reputation of the company marketing Neutral Henna. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s your hair.

About Cassia Obovata

Important note: Cassia Obovata or Senna is an herb that is frequently marketed as “Neutral Henna”. Cassia Obovata has a number of beneficial properties that help condition and soften the hair. However, it is not Henna or made from the Henna plant as is the case with True Neutral Henna.

According to Wikipedia, “Another senna, Senna italica ssp. italica (= Cassia obovata), often called "neutral henna", is used as a hair treatment with effects similar to henna but without the red color. The active component is an anthraquinone derivative called chrysophanic acid, which is also found in higher concentrations in rhubarb root. It adds a slight yellow color.”

Therefore, if you want Cassia Obovata to condition your hair, buy Cassia Obovata. However, if you want True Neutral Henna, buy it from a reputable source.

About True Neutral Henna from Saba Botanical of USA

www.SabaBotanical.com The ingredients of Neutral Henna powder sold by Saba Botanical of USA are as follows:

Lawsonia Inermis, Aloe Vera, Bacopa monnieri, Eclepta alba, Accacia concinna, Punica granatum.

Saba Botanical’s Neutral Henna does not contain Cassia Obovata, but is in fact made from the stems of the Henna plant. (First ingredient: Lawsonia Inermis). This is combined with other beneficial plants and herbs that promote healthy hair conditioning and growth.

Whew! Neutral Henna is no longer an enigma. Are we clear on that?

Truly Neutral Henna –Fact or Fiction? You Decide. Part 1of 2

www.SabaBotanical.com Which of the following statements* is a true fact?

A. “If you have a box of green stuff that says “neutral henna”, that green powder is neither neutral nor henna. There is no such plant as neutral henna! Henna is Lawsonia inermis, and has a red-orange dye molecule. The green "neutral henna" powder is most likely to be Cassia Obovata leaf!”

B. “Neutral Henna does not really exist, but people still ask for it. It looks very much like henna but is not. It is a conditioner for the hair called, Cassia Obovata.”

C. “The stem of the henna plant is neutral. It doesn't color the hair. Rather, neutral henna makes the hair stronger and softer.”

D. “Henna is traded in dried or powdered form. It is classified into three varieties – green, black and neutral. Neutral henna is made from the stem of the henna plant. Neutral henna does not colour the hair, but accentuates the hair’s natural highlights and conditions. It is used in powdered form, mixed with water.”

E. Cassia Obovata is an herb that is frequently marketed as “Neutral Henna”.

Answers

Totally true: C, D, E

Partly true: A

False: B

Explanation of answers:

C, D, and E are totally true. Knowing this will help you to understand more about Neutral Henna.

A is only partly true, because the green powder could be Neutral Henna, a powder made other parts of the henna plant (not the leaf). True Neutral Henna powder is not the plant in its entirety, but is made from the plant. On the flip side, the green powder could be Cassia Obovata and not True Neutral Henna.

B is false because it basically states patently that anything marketed as Neutral Henna is always Cassia Obovata.

Surprised? Confused? That’s completely understandable.

Confusion and misconceptions driven by the increasing demand for pure henna and natural henna-based products have saturated the marketplace. Misleading advertising has also contributed to the seeming enigma known as Neutral Henna.

In our next post, we will clarify and solve this puzzle.

*Statements A through D are documented on actual websites. Please contact author for source.

Using Lustrous Henna® Results in Benefits -Simply Superior to Chemical Hair Dye.

www.SabaBotanical.com Lustrous Henna® is an all-natural hair color for dying hair; it is a vegetable/plant based dye that includes pure, highly-sifted herbal henna, indigo leaf powder and other herbal extracts and powders.

Dark hair colors are naturally achieved resulting in excellent black hair color, dark brown hair color, brown hair color and many more, along with excellent gray hair coverage.

Henna hair dye is semi-permanent, also works as natural hair conditioner and helps with hair growth.

Let’s examine the mechanism of chemical hair dying versus natural hair coloring.

Mechanism of Hair Dying

www.SabaBotanical.com Human Hair is a protein fiber made of two layers. The inner layer called cortex contains melanin. Melanin is a pigment which gives your hair shades of blonde, black, auburn or brown.

Cortex is covered by another layer called cuticle. Cuticle provides protection to cortex and luster to your hair. Cuticle is inert in nature so it cannot biologically or chemically absorb any color.

By Chemical Dye:

Most of the chemical dyes contain bleaching agents such as ammonia and/or peroxide which damage the outer most layer and create capillaries in hair shaft. Then PPD, OPD, MPD like chemical color fills these capillaries, enter in the inner layer and remain stuck inside, as permanent color. The next application again does the same on hair shaft. This results in loss of strength, roughness and permanent damage to hair.

By Natural Dye:

Natural Dye colors hair by coating the hair shaft. It provides thickness to hair and stick as a semi-permanent color. The next application again does the same and results in increase in strength and shine in your hair.

Conclusion:

Chemical Hair Dye is simply inferior to natural plant-based hair dye and extremely harmful to hair.

Using Lustrous Henna® all-natural hair color dye is superior and definitely results in healthy hair benefits for men and women.

Sharing Testimonials:
Linda Belt: Great natural alternative to all of the chemical hair color. Mine first coloring lasted right @ 3 months.

Muhammad Tariq Iqbal: The product specially designed for those which want to prevent the hazards of chemicals. Good result.

SO MUCH BETTER TO BE SAFE -When Coloring Your Hair.

www.SabaBotanical.com Glowing hair reflects a person's state of health, as well as creates that beautiful look that we all want to keep forever!
If you are thinking about coloring your hair, it's worth exploring natural options to bring out highlights, to add a little shading or to cover gray. Using a natural product, such as Lustrous Henna® is very safe and beneficial to your hair than a conventional hair dye that may completely damage your hair and scalp with prolong use.

Why you should never use synthetic dyes when coloring your hair:

Learn more at www.sababotanical.com "Conventional dyes contain high level of toxic chemicals that can be absorbed through the scalp, where there is a rich blood supply. Then these chemicals circulate throughout your body, where they can be stored in the tissues and cause adverse health effects," says Marianne Marchese, ND, who practices natural medicine at a Woman's Time Clinic in Portland, Oregon.

A recent study conducted at Yale University found a link between permanent hair dye and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. One study for example, suggested that woman over the age of 50 who have used permanent hair dyes for ten or more years have an increased risk of breast cancer. Yet another discovered that users of permanent hair dyes are 2:1 times more likely to have bladder cancer. Other studies have linked the use of hair dyes to allergies and skin disorders like eczema and to far more serious diseases like leukemia and ovarian cancer.

Such study results should not be surprising when one considers the number of toxic ingredients used by both salon and consumer hair coloring formulas. In one analysis of popular brands and formulations, Consumer Reports found nearly 20 different ingredients that were classified as potential human carcinogens. The suspects included such heavy oncological hitters as coal tar derivatives, para-phenylenediamine (PPD), (which can also cause blindness), bezenediamine dihydrochloride, and aminonline dihydrochloride. Other hazardous ingredients include, ammonia, peroxide and lead, a heavy metal commonly found in products that gradually color hair over time with many repeated applications.

Fortunately, a nontoxic alternative to synthetic hair colorants really does exist:

Chemical Hair Dye Risks & Phenylenediamine (PPD) Public Service Announcement Video.

Regarding the use of Permanent Chemical Dyes, please pay close attention to the following video and other important information:

From WebMD:

Avoid Chemical Hair Dye. Are Hair Dyes Safe?

The decision to change your hair color may be a hard one. Some studies have linked hair dyes with a higher risk of certain cancers, while other studies have not found this link. Most hair dyes also don't have to go through safety testing that other cosmetic color additives do before hitting store shelves. Women are often on their own trying to figure out whether hair dyes are safe.

When hair dyes first came out, the main ingredient in coal-tar hair dye caused allergic reactions in some people. Most hair dyes are now made from petroleum sources. But FDA still considers them to be coal-tar dyes. This is because they have some of the same compounds found in these older dyes.

Avoid Chemical Hair Color Dye. Cosmetic makers have stopped using things known to cause cancer in animals. For example, 4-methoxy-m-phenylenediamine (4MMPD) or 4-methoxy-m-phenylenediamine sulfate (4MMPD sulfate) are no longer used. But chemicals made almost the same way have replaced some of the cancer-causing compounds. Some experts feel that these newer ingredients aren't very different from the things they're replacing.

Experts suggest that you may reduce your risk of cancer by using less hair dye over time. You may also reduce your risk by not dyeing your hair until it starts to gray.

Lustrous Henna®. Thankful for a Remarkable Concept and History.

"Nature has it all, but you need to have an eagle's eye to identify it."
SabaLogo1 In our modern times, people the world over have come to realize that natural products are a still safer option for healthy, green living.

Henna since ancient times. Henna has been used as a pure natural hair coloring product since ancient times.

However, via the ground breaking efforts of Syed Abbas (Saba Botanical of USA, Inc.) and AMA Herbal of India, more than just an orange color is now achieved. For decades, the majority of users desired a variety of color, such as Black, Dark Brown, Burgundy, etc. (Color that was not possible with solely plain Henna.) To achieve natural hair color, other natural botanical dyes were required to be added to the formulation.

In search of perfect natural color, we have worked on more than 500 natural color-giving herbs, plants, shrubs, bark of trees, flowers, fruit rind, leaves, roots etc.

After much brainstorming and much laboratory testing, we have selected only those natural dyes along with medicinal herbs like Awla, Shikakai, Brahmi and Brangraj that can be used in hair dying.

The products of Saba Botanical of USA, Inc. are formulated with the most effective natural ingredients to enhance their performance.  In our formulations, like Lustrous Henna® and Lustrous Henna® Shampoo Powder, special care is taken to make sure that they deliver target results to the end user.

Lustrous Henna® -a concept fully realized and a proven history we can all be thankful for.

*Para-phenylenediamine

Hi, my name is Krista and I just wanted to share my experience with using Lustrous Henna.

Krista-b-saba-botanical-745x245

I have naturally curly fine hair that is now 40% gray. I had been dying my hair with the traditional dyes for years. Last year my hair was severely damaged by having a professional put a color remover on my hair to remove old, too dark dye. After the application, my hair was what they call "bubble gum" hair in the industry. It was like rubber when wet and snapped off when it was dry. I was told that there was no cure for this and I would just have to cut it all off and that I couldn't use any chemicals on it.

I was searching the internet for a protein treatment that would strengthen my hair. When I read about the conditioning properties of henna and it colored the gray without chemicals, I placed an order that day. My before and after picture speak for themselves but let me just tell you more. After using the Lustrous Henna just one time, my hair was softer and shinier than before it was damaged. It took about 2 months and 2 more applications of the Lustrous Henna and not blow drying my hair, the breakage stopped. I work in a spa and the hairstylists that told me I would have to cut it off couldn't believe the recovery my hair made.

Here are some other benefits I have noticed since using your product. My hair started sprouting new growth all over my scalp! My hair is twice as thick(the hair bands I use prove it) as before. My hair is naturally curly and it is much easier to blow dry straight now. I had used red dyes before, but they never looked like a natural red, it faded fast and every hair was the same color, not to mention I was putting awful chemicals on my head!

I just love the multi-tonal highlights that the Lustrous Henna gives my hair. The streaks in my hair in the picture are not bleached highlights, that is my natural color showing through. I use the Lustrous Henna Red on the roots of my hair and the natural henna on the rest of my hair to give it depth and to look naturally sun bleached like a child's hair. I would also like to mention that I have gotten wonderful customer service from Saba Botanical. I have spoken to Syed on the phone for advice on colors and application and he is a wonderful, knowlegeable person. My orders have arrived in the mail the same week I ordered them.

Thank You for saving my hair with your wonderful product. I will be a loyal customer for years to come.

Krista B. from Missouri, U.S.A.
